Well, both of the hip replacement surgeries can cause pain, but anterior is considered less painful and has a faster recovery.

Posterior hip replacement surgery involves cutting muscles, which can cause more pain and take a long recovery period.
The posterior approach has a high risk of nerve damage. And this approach also requires lots of precaution after surgery.
Anterior hip replacement surgery doesn’t involve any cutting of muscles, so it causes less pain and has a fast recovery.
There is a much lower risk of dislocation after surgery; it involves faster recovery with less pain.

Most doctors prefer to choose anterior hip replacement surgery, as it is considered less painful with faster recovery, and even though it requires a short hospital stay with less riskof any damage.
