Couples Therapy LGBTQ

Like all couples, LGBTQ+ couples can experience relationship problems that are unique to them. They also face different stressors, such as discrimination by society, internalized homophobia, and lack of inclusive representation. Couple therapy developed specifically for covenanted couples would offer a haven for discussing these issues. Couples Therapy LGBTQ issues would be aware of the differences and would be able to guide couples through the social conflicts, navigate personal identity issues within the relationship itself, and develop communication strategies that are founded on acknowledgment and validation of their experiences. Last but not least, such therapy would be about developing coping strategies to enhance the wellness of the relationship that recognizes the additional challenges and appreciates the strengths that these types of couples have.
